Our Frequently Asked Questions

How come your prices are lower than the high street?

Our main focus is to give our customer the most sparkle for their money – with our minimal overheads and direct links to diamond suppliers, we cut out the middlemen and save you money.
So not only are you getting prices much lower than you’ll ever find on the high street, you’re also getting top-graded GIA diamonds and British craftsmanship along with 5 star service. Its an absolute no-brainer.

I have an idea for a ring, can it be made?

At Cherry Fine Jewellery we pride ourselves on our ability to design, create and bring to life any designs our customers may think of. We can work from existing photos, sketches or even a discussion over the phone to bring your idea to life using market-leading CAD technology. This will provide you with realistic 3D images so you can see exactly how the design will appear in real life. We also send you a 3D printed resin model for you to try for size. Our design service is also free if you decide to go ahead, we just require an initial deposit which will be taken off the final balance once your creation is made.

Is it important to buy a certified diamond?

If you are buying a diamond that is 0.25ct or over, we highly recommend that you ensure it is certified. This is your guarantee that the diamond has been independently tested and graded to ensure it is not artificial or has been subject to any treatments to enhance its characteristics. However, please note that not all diamond grading labs adhere to the same strict standard. This is why here at Cherry Fine Jewellery, we only source GIA graded diamonds as they’re tested against the industries most rigorous standards.

Can I pay in instalments?

Of course you can! If you would like to pay in instalments for any product on our website, please contact us to arrange a flexible plan that is best for you. Please note that you will not receive the item until the full balance has been paid.

Where can I find more information to help me choose a design?

Yes, we can send you a scanned image of the certificate via email or WhatsApp before you decide to complete the purchase.

Can I specify what diamond characteristics I would like on the GIA certificate?

What is a diamond certificate?

A diamond certificate is a unique document that is specifically created for one diamond. It documents the diamond colour, carat, clarity, cut, proportions and also outlines any inclusions if it has any. All Cherry Fine Jewellery diamonds are GIA certified as they adhere to the worlds strictest diamond grading standards. All of our diamonds above 0.25ct are GIA certified to ensure consistent quality is delivered to our valued customers.

What level of fluorescence do your diamonds have?

All naturally occurring diamonds have some degree of fluorescence. However, we only source diamonds that have ‘no fluorescence’ or ‘faint’ levels. At this low level, fluorescence will not impact the beauty and fire of the diamond. We do not sell any diamonds with fluorescence above this level.

Do you sell conflict diamonds?

‘Conflict diamonds’ is a term used to describe diamonds that originate from areas controlled by forces or factions opposed to legitimate and internationally recognised governments and are used to fund military action in oppositions to those governments, or in contravention of the decisions of the Security Council. Our policy on conflict diamonds is absolutely rigorous. We will not buy, sell or handle any diamonds of unclear provenance. We insist that all of our suppliers subscribe to The Kimberly Process Certification Scheme.

How do I know your diamonds are legitimate?

We only source our diamonds from a very select handful of diamond companies based in the UK who are recognised as being some of the worlds finest diamond polishing and manufacturing companies. By purchasing our diamonds directly without going through a wholesaler, it means we can track exactly where our diamonds have been mined and polished, whilst bringing a greater discount to our customers. We are also able to guarantee that all our diamonds are natural and have had no artificial enhancements. We also have a strict conflict diamond policy and can guarantee all our diamonds come from legitimate sources.

Where can I get more information to help me choose a diamond?

If you would like expert advice on any aspect of diamonds or diamond jewellery from one of our qualified gemologists, please call us on +(44)7593 527543 or you can email us at sales@cherryfinejewellery.co.uk.

Do you have diamonds in between the carat weight choices on your website?

Yes certainly, we stock numerous diamonds under or over the stated carat weight sizes. Diamond carat sizes that are slightly less may offer great value for money as they will have near enough the same size appearance but will be at a lower cost. If you would like a price for a specific size of diamond please contact us and we will get back to you to discuss in more detail. If you do order a specific carat weight through our website, we guarantee that the diamond you receive will be a minimum of the specified carat weight.

I can't see the specific diamond I am looking for on the website, do you have more options?

Definitely. Should you not see exactly what you are looking for please contact us as we are able to source loose diamonds to specific requirements at very competitive prices. Please email us at sales@cherryfinejewellery.co.uk for a quote.

What does TCW mean?

TCW is an abbreviation of ‘Total Carat Weight’. This is only used on diamond jewellery where more than one diamond is used, usually when rings have a ‘halo’ or diamond shoulders for example.

If a ring is advertised as being 1.00ct TCW, this means that all the stones in the ring total to 1.00ct. For example, a ring could have a 0.50ct center stone with 20 individual stones in a halo that weigh 0.025ct each.

How come your prices are lower than the high street?

Our main focus is to give the customer the most sparkle for their money. And with our minimal overheads and direct links to diamond suppliers, we cut out the middlemen and cut the price for our cherished customers.

So not only are you getting prices much lower than you’ll ever find on the high street, you’re also getting top-graded GIA diamonds and British craftsmanship along with 5 star service. Its an absolute no-brainer.

I've seen a ring elsewhere that has had thousands reduced, is this a good buy?

Absolutely not. Before making any purchase on diamond jewellery, always make sure you are well informed about diamonds and their value. Take some time and read through our Diamond Buying Guide to educate yourself on factors that increase or decrease a diamonds value. Remember that every diamond is unique and has its own value.

Many large retailers will mass produce rings and sell them at high prices, way above what they’re actually worth and set them with low-end diamonds. If you look online, many retailers won’t even tell you what colour and clarity they are – let alone will they be certificated. If you would like any free advice on diamonds, please contact us and one of our gemologists will be happy to help you.

Will my jewellery be hallmarked?

Yes, all pieces sold by Cherry Fine Jewellery are UK hallmarked, it is a legal requirement in the UK that all precious metal is tested and marked by an assay office.

The grade of Platinum and Palladium we use is 950 purity. We only use ethically sourced gold in all of our jewellery, to read more please visit our Ethical Gold page. We usually use yellow, rose and white gold in 9K (375) and 18K (750) in our jewellery, however, other variants of purity are available on request such as 14K (585) or 22K (916).

All silver we use is nickel free and is rhodium plated to produce a bright white shine, which will protect against silver oxidation causing it to tarnish.

We will adjust it in our workshop and return to you free of charge. Where possible we also re-size bespoke made rings free of charge.

This includes plain (non diamond set) wedding bands and diamond set eternity bands that do not have diamonds all the way around them. For fully set diamond eternity bands, they may be resized but would need to be inspected first and may only be re-sized up by 1 UK size maximum.

Where it is not possible to resize in the traditional manner (for example if the band is set with diamonds all the way around the band) and where it is not possible to exchange (if the ring has been worn, bespoke or made to order) we will advise you of the options and costs. For all of our re-sizing work we use a laser so you can be assured of a completely invisible join, with no solder added or other impurities.
